Funktion-One has always designed acoustically flat loudspeaker systems, requiring only crossover filters, relative delays and gains. The advantages of this approach are headroom preservation and system linearity, as well as a clearer, more natural audio presentation. Our own designed transducers combined with unique waveguide and loading technology mean our products can offer high performance with the minimum of distortion and maximum efficiency.

engineering philosophy
All critical design decisions at Funktion-One are informed by comprehensive listening tests. The results are validated by in-depth electroacoustic measurements with both industry-standard and bespoke instrumentation and software. We have also designed and constructed a robot for automated 3D directivity measurement of loudspeakers and arrays weighing over 300kg. Our focus is on audience enjoyment with minimum distortion and maximum efficiency.

Funktion-One was founded in 1992, but the company’s speaker design heritage stems from the early days of big concert sound in the 1970s.
At the time, audio engineers were still attempting to work out the perfect equation for live sound - and ever since the company has led the way when it comes to setting industry standards for others in the sector to follow.
The mid 2010s marked the long-awaited debut of their first vertical array format offering in the form of the Funktion-One Vero system. Vero is a large format system that combines the convenience of a line array with Funktion-One’s proprietary point source technology and Vero VX is the latest iteration of this product.
