WEEE

Any product marked with the WEEE logo (crossed out wheelie bin with a line underneath) should not be disposed of in normal household waste as products with electrical or electronic components can be recycled and could also be harmful to the environment if sent to landfill.

The UK WEEE Regulations place a direct responsibility on Producers (i.e. manufacturers/importers/brand owners) such as Funktion-One for placing items of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) onto the UK market. Every obligated Producer such as ourselves has to join an approved Producer Compliance Scheme and we have chosen a scheme called Comply Direct Ltd who have subsequently registered Funktion One as a UK Producer of WEEE with the Environment Agency (EA).

Our proposed system for the recovery, treatment and recycling of Business to Business (B2B) WEEE under the UK WEEE Regulations:

The obligation falls to Funktion One for picking up the end of life disposal costs of WEEE relating
to all Funktion One EEE placed on the market after August 13th 2005 no matter whether we have sold direct to a Business End User or whether the Business End User purchased the EEE from a Funktion-One dealer.

All WEEE must be sent at end of life for treatment and recycling at an Approved and Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) and Evidence Notes must be gained from the AATF to show that this has happened. Under the WEEE Regulations it should be noted that WEEE must be returned at end of life as whole appliances and should not have been stripped for parts before a request for collection is made.

Through our chosen WEEE producer compliance scheme, Comply Direct Ltd, Funktion One will arrange for the collection of obligated WEEE from its locations. The WEEE will firstly be assessed for re-use as this is a priority under the WEEE Regulations before being transported to an AATF
for treatment and recycling.

As part of this verification process, business end users or yourselves will be required to complete an online WEEE Collection Request Form via the Comply Direct website. Comply Direct will verify the details being entered into the form with ourselves before a collection is arranged. Alternatively you can contact us direct.

We do hope that you will be able to assist us with the collection of business end user WEEE
as per the above.

If any of the above is unclear then please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss further.
