Masaaki Azuma of try audio comments: "The rain started on the 17th and showed no sign of stopping as it became time to set up on the 18th. It rained very hard then stopped, rained hard then stopped. We waited for the rain to ease up, then set up. After that, one band rehearsed in the rain, and the rain began to come into the stage, till there was no difference between being under the roof and not. That's when we called it a day. The Hiroshima people asked whether we needed to cover the speakers. I considered the danger in sending someone up to do this, and the fact that I had experienced this type of rain storm before and decided that we didn't need to cover the speakers, and went home to the hotel. The record breaking rainfall continued until the next morning. A road nearby was washed away and homes were flooded. I'm sure that can give you an idea of the amount and intensity of that night's rain. We got into the venue in the morning,
and with crossed fingers, powered everything up while praying that at
least half of the speakers would work. The system seemed to ask, "What
rain?", as everything sounded fine. The weather cleared up and
twenty thousand people enjoyed a successful concert."
